Commercial and Financial Consultant, Ahmed Meguid, Ex Egas Advisor
HE held a number of positions at the following firms and corporation:
The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation “EGPC” - a governmental entity performing and supervising oil trade activities – where he served as an economist within the EGPC Economic Department performing project feasibility studies and economic evaluation for a vast number of oil and refining Projects.
The Egyptian Natural Gas Company “GASCO” responsible for managing the Egyptian national gas grid. He worked within GASCO’s economic and budgetary department preparing company budgets and business plan preparing a lot of feasibility studies for gas transmission and transport pipeline projects for domestic markets.
The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company “EGAS”- responsible for managing and supervising the Egyptian Gas Sector including development, export and import activities and companies. He was in charge of EGAS Economic Department for more than 10 years evaluating major and minor upstream & downstream gas projects.
Mr. Abd El Meguid has held a number of different positions at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company “EGAS”. He has served as Vice Chairman for Economic Affairs and Foreign – Domestic Trade Activities for 3 years, in addition to being both a Senior Economist, and a Board Directors Member.
He was also the Egyptian official representative at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum “GECF”.
In all the previously mentioned giant governmental entities, Mr. Abd El Meguid’s experience has developed through dealing with and managing the following significant topics:
Upstream activities related to concession financial terms and conditions reflecting economically each contractor, local entity and government shares.
Performance of Micro and Macroeconomic appraisal and feasibility studies for mega projects including energy, Refineries, LNG Plants, Power Stations, Solar and Renewable Energy, in addition to Gas Derivatives.

Negotiating LNG Exporting Project Finance terms, in participation with Egyptian side and foreign shareholders, Lending Banks to meet the requested credit ratio to finance LNG Plants at Idku in Damitta - Egypt. Common agreed Financial Model controlling the loans payment conditions were applied by all parties.

Negotiations to link gas upstream and downstream plants for exporting purposes.

Leading negotiation teams, negotiating upstream concession agreements amendments with major IOCs like Bg, Bp, Ieoc, Total, RWE … Others.

Building up and developing full Data Base for domestic gas customers and financial transactions with EGAS.

Mr. Ahmed Abd El Meguid has joined a study with ECA Consultant relevant to EGAS gas activities, determining approaches of Gas Cost calculation, among of them, Long Term Marginal Cost approach has been selected and applied. Many updated Gas Cost Studies have been made - based on this methodology

Mr. Ahmed did and participated in studies for Gas Pricing and Gas Market Liberalization through following implementation applications:
